From Honolulu, take the H-1 freeway west.  Exit 10 goes to Moanalua Road.  When the offramp meets Moanalua Road, turn left to go to Pearl Ridge.  Turn right to go to Waimano Home Road and Pacific Palisades.  From Ewa Beach and Makakilo, take H-1 eastbound.  Exit 10 will bring you to Kamehameha Highway (Kam Hwy). Follow Kam Hwy to the closest cross street for your destination.  Staying on Kam Hwy will take you to Aiea and Moanalua.

A brief history of Pearl Harbor

Hawaiians called it "Pu'uloa" (long hill) and "Wai Momi" (water of pearls). "Long Hill" probably refers to Pearl City's topography and hilly routes such as Ka'ahumanu Street, Kaonohi Street and Waimano Home Road.  Long before it became a naval base, pearl-containing oysters could be found in the harbor.

Pearl Harbor is best known as the naval base attacked by the Japanese in World War II.  The attack on December 7, 1941 thrust the United States into the war.  Pearl Harbor is a top attraction for visitors.  Take time to visit this historic site and see the following:
