Moanalua and Salt Lake
Moanalua is near Honolulu Airport on Oahu. This area was first developed in the late 1800's by Samuel Mills Damon. The best known landmark of the area is Tripler Hospital.
Salt Lake was originally just that - a lake of saltwater. It was filled in years ago by developers for construction of a golf course and housing. What remains today is a small body of water around the golf course. Salt Lake is located within the Moanalua neighborhood.
One of the features residents enjoy is the central location. The drive to downtown is about three miles. Pearl City, Kapolei and the North Shore are not far off. Military bases such as Pearl Harbor, Fort Shafter and Camp Smith are nearby. Kaneohe Marine Corps Base is easy to access via the H-3 freeway.
There are many condos in the area. One of the newer, more popular condo developments is Country Club Village, built in the mid 1990's. Across the street is Lakeview Gardens, an affordable condo featuring two-bedroom units.

From downtown Honolulu, take the H-1 freeway westbound. Just after the Likelike highway exit, another exit will appear for the Honolulu Airport. At that point the highway becomes Moanalua Freeway (78). Stay on Moanalua Freeway rather than going towards the airport. Take exit 3 to get to Moanalua, Salt Lake and Tripler Hospital. If you miss the turn, exit 2 will come up afterwards. Moanalua Valley and Kaiser Hospital are accesible from there.
From Pearl City and Ewa Beach heading eastbound on H-1, take exit 13 (connects to the Moanalua Freeway) and proceed up Red Hill. Take exit 2 at the top of the hill to arrive in Moanalua.
