La'ie homes for sale

Located on the North Shore of Oahu, La'ie is a quiet, peaceful community.  The Church of Latter Day Saints and Brigham Young University of Hawaii are located in La'ie.  The Polynesian Cultural Center is an attraction for visitors and is a significant employer for area residents.

Kamehameha highway runs along the coastline and most homes are inland from that road.  In some sections where the highway moves inland we find homes along the beach.  Either way, La'ie is a neighborhood where you can get away from city life and live near the ocean.  The waves are usually gentle here and it's a good area to go fishing on the beach or to take a swim.

Map of La'ie and driving instructions

From Kailua and Kaneohe, take Kamehameha Highway (83) westbound.  Drive past Punalu'u and Hauula.  You'll know you're in Laie when the BYU campus is in sight.

From the North Shore, take Kamehameha Highway eastbound.  Drive past Kahuku and Malaekahana State Park.  A traffic signal is at the intersection of Kamehameha Highway and Anemoku Street, letting you know you've made it to La'ie.

La'ie has two great beaches, Pounders and Kokololio (say that fast a few times!).  Pounders got its name from the way its waves pound on the shore.  It's a popular place for boogie boarding.  During wintertime the waves can get big and the currents rough.  Be safe in the water, there are no lifeguards at these beaches!
